This is a stunning model kit for a rarely represented ship. Laid down in 1935, the Richelieu was completed just days before Germany's victory in the French Campaign in June 1940. It then sailed to French West Africa to remain under French control. However, it was later attacked by the British to compel it to join the Free French forces. The ship underwent modernization in the United States and served with the British Home Fleet in early 1944 before joining the Eastern Fleet to combat the Japanese. It was finally scrapped in Italy between 1968 and 1969. This kit offers a substantial build: five sheets of stainless steel and brass allow for a model measuring 31.5 cm in length. Rich in detail, down to the unique quadruple 381mm main gun turrets, the Richelieu model will be a remarkable addition to your Piececool collection.
